As a mum to a 5 year old boy with a wild imagination I know it can be difficult to plan for boys parties. There never seems to be an awful lot tailored to boys aside from the general branded character party plates, cups and napkins. Which is great, if that is what your child wants. But sometimes they want something different and some children’s interests lie outside of this. Our little boy is one of those. Don’t get me wrong, he definitely loves the character stuff as much as the next child, but nothing in any serious way that he would want to theme a party around it.
This year for his birthday he wanted a super hero theme. I was delighted when looking through my supplier catalogue to come across the lovely super hero range below. Sleek, stylish and uber cool. Just what every well respected 5 year old requires for their birthday.
I love the fact that this range is in no way gender stereotypical and I could have quite easily used it for my daughters birthday too. It’s bright, fun and does’t depict leading characters which is always great for encouraging children to use their own imaginations. Just put on one of the masks and you can be which ever super hero you fancy, or even make up your own!
Another lovely range from Meri Meri is the explorer range. I think this fits in so well with the recent trend for woodland animals that have come through for children’s interior styling. Foxes have been big over the past couple of year, but I'm putting my money on bears for 2017. After all, who didn't fall in love with the TV animation of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ at Christmas?
Again, this range is not at all gender stereotypical and is so much fun. It is also easy to co-ordinate with a range of party ideas, games and extra touches to create a complete and consistent theme for your celebration.
