Fathers Day is just around the corner now and it is time to spoil Dad! If he is anything like the Dad in our household its not about the amount of gifts he gets (although he likes that too!), its all about spending time with his family on this special day. With this in mind we have outlined some of our favourite things to do on Fathers Day and some of the things we have done in previous years to celebrate as a family.
Breakfast in Bed
This is a must do every year on Fathers Day. Not only is it nice for Dad, but the kids love to help prep and plan breakfast for him and wake him up with the surprise of it. Give your children jobs to do to help in the preparation of breakfast to get them involved. We usually add some interest to our breakfast tray with fun party wear. This year we will be using our super hero range. After all, Dad is their favourite super hero!
Picnics and Cricket
In previous years we have visited our local park that happens to have a cricket pitch and a game on Fathers Day. We have taken a picnic and enjoyed spending some time together as a family. If there is a particular sport that dad likes you could do the same thing in your area too. Take some of our stylish party wear to add some extra thought into your picnic.
In previous years we have attended the cycling event Eroica Britannia which always seems to fall on Fathers Day. This year is no exception. It is a great event to visit with a cycling competition, lots of food and drink stalls and plenty of entertainment. You could even make a weekend of it with their camping option. There are lots of other fun events happening across the country and you could do some research to find our what is happening in your area.
Sunday lunch is always a good idea. Why not take dad for Sunday lunch at his favourite restaurant or pub. A great way to spend time with the family, and no one has to do the washing up either!
Have fun celebrating Fathers Day with your very own super hero!
