We were delighted when Ainsley, more famously known as @life_with_oaksandolive approached us recently to style and provide some of our party ware range for her daughters christening.
If you are not following Ainsley on Instagram already, you need to be. Her account is full of beautiful pictures of her life, home and children Oakley and Olive. Its a beautiful account, but very real too and Ainsley provides a great representation of real life with two children in tow.
We love Ainsley’s style so when she approached us, we knew we could work well together to create something very lovely for a special little lady’s christening day.
We had a stunning colour palette to work with, using a soft green, pink and peach as the base colours for the decoration on the day. We used lots of lovely ribbon in these colours to create a beautiful backdrop for the cake table. We then added in some of our gold confetti paper cups and straws to bring in some glamour. This gorgeous cake was created by the talented Emma at Hello Cake.
We used vintage crates as a prop to add height to the table and display a pink lemonade drinks dispenser and sweet jars. The lovely ‘Olive Girl’ banner was a bespoke creation by Pearl and Boo and was created in the same colours to complement the theme of the christening. We love this idea as the banner can be used for the party and also within a bedroom or playroom afterwards. Lots of flowers were also added to the table in a range of different jars and vases to add in a vintage and whimsical feel to the occasion.
The christening fell on an amazing day weather wise and it meant that we were able to style up a fun play area in the garden for the children to play in. Creating these corners of fun at events is a specialist styling feature for me and something I love doing. Having children myself means that I understand how a creative, inspiring area of fun for them can make a big difference to an event. For Olive’s Christening, we utilised Oakley and Olive’s tipi, which we placed in the garden with lots of cushions and blankets. We also added some fun tissue paper pom pom decorations and tassels to make it look a little different from usual. We then filled a Fortnam and Mason wicker picnic hamper with books, toys and fun activities to keep the children entertained.
We hope you enjoy these photos of Ainsley and her family from the day and I think you will agree with us how amazing they all looked. We absolutely love the flower crowns that both Ainsley and Olive wore and we adore their dresses too which fit in perfectly with the floral and botanical theme of the event styling.
We hope they all had a wonderful day celebrating a special little girl.
Thank you to Ainsley for letting us use her beautiful photos.
