Summer garden parties are the best, so long as the Great British weather complies. If you are planning on throwing an al fresco soirée this Summer, we have a few ideas below to help it all go swimmingly (although we hope not literally with the rain!).
We love styling any sort of gathering or occasion to really make it feel special. We are lucky enough to have lots of styling pops in our possession from all of the weddings we style, but you don't need much to add some great finishing touches to your garden party. Some bunting, bought or handmade, will certainly add a great feature. Festoon lights are a great addition too, especially as the evenings draw in and some extra light is needed later in the day.
Food and Drink
We find keeping it simple with food is the key to every entertaining occasion. A BBQ always goes down well, but other options can include asking everyone to bring a certain dish to add to a grazing table. This helps to involve everyone and keep it relaxed, without anyone having too much catering pressure. A great suggestion for supplying drinks to your guests is to let them help themselves. Add a drinks dispenser to a table for people to re-fill as and when they need, you can pick these up for a great price at most supermarkets these days. Another fabulous idea is to load a large gardening trough, with ice and bottled drinks so that again, the guests can help them selves. If you can happen to get your hands on an old rolltop bath for this, then you are onto a winner!
The Little Extras
Adding in the final detail is always the most fun for me. To save myself lots of washing up later on, I often delve into my range of paper cups, paper plates, napkins, and straws. The range of designs I have mean that there is always something suitable for every occasion and it helps to make the whole gathering look lovely. You can mix and match lots of my collections of party ware to create something bespoke to your occasion. The beautiful designs mean they won't look out of place with the rest of your event either.
We hope you get some great weather and enjoy a summer of entertaining!
